Merry Christmas Pearls!...

Hey pearls!
I am wishing you all my faithful readers a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
It has truly been a great year as i have grown personally and i am now more aware of what is important in life.

You meet so many people in life, and make new friends, both temporary and permanent. I am glad i learnt my lessons in 2011, and i don't ever want to be taken for granted again due to the good i have done for some people. The best thing about life is that what goes around, surely comes around and the last time i had girl drama was in high school, sigh! .

Girls talk man, it ain't no joke, and they all smiles when they see you, hahaha... good thing i focus on the most important things in my life and that is my husband, mom and sisters.

That is why this festive season is all about family to me, 2012 will be my year of success and big dreams. Until then i will eat, pray and love abundantly.

Been fun blogging this year and i will try to post whatever i can in these few remaining days.

Much Love Pearls!....

My time to stretch exams are finally over

I am totally loving the stockings, like totally ummhhhh a christmas gift to myself someday. I had a period of madness as i was prepping up for exams with my usual excuse, " too much to read with little time".
And today im glad its over, no more exams for me from University however my project paper will give me much more stress. Fall semester was a great semester for me as a friendship grew, i made more friends with lesser enemies. yeeiiiiii for me.
I had a roommate who i will never forget and those memories will forever be with me. Im sitting at the airport now and i can't believe how fast time has flown, though its good anyways i am looking forward to ending 2011 and im looking forward to a blessed 2012 filled with success and positive energy.

Over and out Pearls until..... tomorrow maybe.

Bongo is too hot for Fendi

I hadn't been home in a while, so i was going through my bags and stuff and realized they were peeling.

I had given away so many things this past year and late last year and only kept a few of my favorite things and this Fendi bag was one of them. You have no idea how upset i was when i realized this and apparently its due to piling up my bags, not using it as much and especially the Bongo heat as well.
Oh well, all i have now are memories of my ex-fab bag.

i'm feeling rather creative this week

In a state of boredom this week i took to my scatching pad and got a little creative.

I remember back in high school i used to love drawing and topped my art class most of the time, i guess its in my DNA. I kind of lost my interest in drawing and batik when i joined University but with time im finding my way back to my roots. I have lost the touch but im getting there, and hopefully soon.
All i have to do now is find a good tailor.
Sigh.....

How to beat Bongo Traffic!.

So i took this picture about three months ago while home over the Spring break. The rainy season in Dar es salaam, Tanzania is every driver's and passenger's nightmare.
I saw this family in a "bajaji" wheeling their way through the traffic until they came to a halt. I didn't think about it but this is the best way save money, fuel wise and beat congestion.
All hail to creativity!.
But now i wonder..... would a citizen resort to this easier means of transportation?
UMmhhhhh......

My new Haircut pearls....

So i just undid my braids about two days ago and needed a little bit of a change, not as drastic as i had hoped but i just didn't want to see my once rather long hair on the floor so i requested they sweep it before i wiped over my hair. Seriously i used to laugh at guys get so emotional over cutting hair that they had a bond with. So here are the results

All in all, i love my new bob, it now looks very neat and levelled up as compared to how it used to be before.

Why i didn't think of this earlier i have no idea, i still love the "buns" though, but i guess this time round i'v a crush on my natural bob.

I used to think that it was only weaves that could actually create such a great levelling and fullness. I guess i was wrong.
I love my breathable real hair do for a change!.

Is it Ok for a Friend to Copy Your Style?

Khloe and Malika dressed alike on their night out, the same bodysuit and all black.

When i saw this picture i just had to post it. I remember when i was in primary school i had a close friend and we where both so obsessed with dressing and looking alike all the time. We would shop at the same store and do the same hairstyles. Wow, those were the days. With time it faded until later on in life when i found out that someone was dressing up close to my personal style. It went from the same color of clothes when going out, make-up, same cut and almost everything else.
That freaked me out to bits until she took pride when people told her that we looked alike.
haahaahaa....
those where the days, so that explains why i posted this, don't get me wrong, dressing alike could be fun, just don't go too far.

xoxo and cheers to lookalikes!!!...

Back from my long Easter weekend

Hope you all enjoyed your Easter as much as i did my pearls. My 5 day's in Dubai were great even though we spend Christmas and New Years Eve there about three months ago. So we flew with Kenya Airways so we could use up our flying blue miles. Boy or boy, what a big mistake. That will be coming soon, so keep checking to read more on my KQ experience, we're so sticking to Emirates for our trips to UAE.

All in all, i shopped a little... ate a lot.... and had a blast.

Now im back and updates coming soon

Goodbye Spring 2011 and Hello airport anxiety

So exams are over at long last, I can’t say much about the papers but I’m sure the papers will say a lot about me when my lecturers start marking with their “red for danger” pens. All in all I’m glad it’s over and spring break awaits my bumming and sun de-tanning. So here I am sitting at the airport, after arriving earlier than usual predicting that I’d have more than enough time to feast my eyes on duty free and blame it on the imaginary hole in my wallet.

Just when I was checking in the lady in red tells me, “The plane is an hour and a half late; you will be arriving to our final destination at 00:30”. Disarrayed I was about to vociferate after what I called my three hour nap the previous night. Argh… just what I needed. So here I am at the airport, with a throbbing headache and an exhausted brain that needs 13 hours of sleep to reboot.

Two more hours to go to this unexpected turn of events and cheers to arriving home tomorrow, on my sister’s birthday. Oh well until then I’ll be blogging, discovering more about facebook and practicing my daily ritual of stalking my favorite blogs.

Over and out before my eyes pop-out.

Exam week

Oh yes!.

Exam week is upon us, and I'm glad I have no exam today, yeeiii they all start tomorrow. I'm a little freaked out, probably feeling unprepared but glad I'll be home over the weekend. So I won't be posting much this week but I have my updated posts all lined up in my note pad somewhere.

So good luck to my pearl students this week and I'm sure you all looking forward to our three weeks break. And to my many faithful followers, we have a date this weekend.

Much Love...

"The Next Generation, defining the future of global governance"

TEIMUN 2011 THEME
This was my summary on the topic.

Indeed it is the next generation who will define the future of global governance. In this era of globalization methods should be considered when grasping this statement. Firstly, free primary education should be taken more seriously in underdeveloped countries so that every individual has the right to education. The knowledge that will be earned by these individuals will give them the platform to be better leaders of tomorrow. Anti-corruption campaigns will enlighten individuals more in their prospects of good governance that will be a positive impact not only at a national level but internationally as well. What the generation of this era should do is work towards sustainable development and aim for better development and growth, through understanding politics and international affairs. This generation will provide the next generation with easier means and guidelines on how to solve state problems in collaboration with other states. Maintaining good relations with other states is what this generation needs to appreciate as a means of global cooperation between state governments. All continents need to take this into account especially current leaders who are ruling their states.  The actions of our current leaders dictate what the future holds which will in term affect how the next generation will react. It is us now who are left to help shape the next generation in becoming better leaders of tomorrow therefore enabling the definition of the future of global governance to take place.

The naked truth about "Giving and Sharing"

So Mrs. B has been writing a lot lately.
Instead of saving what I write on my iPad and laptop, I thought what better way to share it than save it. Usually a new year brings so many new resolutions, blah blah all that stuff. But 2010 was one of the most interesting years of my life. I did my part, you did your part, we did our parts and that part of 2010 completed.

But one thing really caught my eye as I listened, watched and acted. “Stepping out of my own skin” something I tend to do a lot. Through the years I have mastered the art of giving and sharing. Not just because the bible says you should do so but because it was a part of me, though I always remembered that when you give, God blesses you more and all that other stuff. I am a 100% sure that I have given away more than half of my wardrobe, from shoes to bikinis.

Don’t get me wrong here, I have been giving with all of my heart and demanding nothing back in return. I also grow to share stuff that I wasn’t so comfortable sharing, but as a way of being nice I thought, “what the heck” it won’t hurt to share though I still never demanded anything In return. All this is College life with 10% personal life. Hah! I just can’t believe the good I did to people who at the end of the day I didn’t really know them. Sharing… giving… giving… giving… oh my so much giving, just to put a smile on your face I would shop for myself, and remember you, and you and you. When I’d get back, my little dolls would be waiting excitedly a reflection of mama finally coming home with candy at the end of the day. And good I felt until it finally hit me.

WHY AM I THE ONE ALWAYS GIVING TO THOSE WHO CAN AFFORD IT, YET THEY NEVER GIVE ME EVEN A PENNY.

Seriously, I stopped and asked myself this one day. When “A” needs to borrow money I give them, yet they never payback until I ask them to. When “Z” needs a pair of something’s I always give them, yet they wait for me to go and beg for my items back. Hello? Is this what it has come down to? I am the lion who catches my prey and you are the vulture who feeds off my hard work. Worse of all, the day I refuse to give or share anything it becomes a sin on your earthly bible and whispers start. Umh… so much for my kindness hah? Its really funny once you think about it.

So what I have decided to do is….
• Only give to those who need it the most
• Stop being considerable to those who don’t need it
• Take back what I have given or what when one takes without asking*
• Stop lending money at all costs• Stop buying gifts for those who have never given back
• The art borrowing will gracing come to end(my clothes, shoes, accessories, etc
• And many more resolutions

Libyan discrimination under what grounds?

I don't understand why Libya being an AFRICAN country would discriminate against their fellow African people.

Is it because:
- they don't want to be classified as Africans?
- or they are not black enough to be classified as Africans?

Sorry to burst your bubble:
- Muslim or non Muslim and living in the African Continent, you are globally recognized as Africans.

* my eyes to watch the latest movies and videos
* small enough to fit in my bag
* portable to fit in my bag

A sleazebag i call wo-MAN

So i decided to Google and find out what a "sleazebag" means, i got this from the urban dictionary, it's a slimey, untrustworthy person, usually male, especially in dealings with the opposite sex.

haahaahaa...

Thank God that's not my husband but a certain 'sleazebag' who's been trying to rub cheeks with my rosy blushed cheeky cheeks.

All of a sudden, i have to report all my daily if not hourly activities to a deluded male who i also call a wo-MAN. Reason being....
This wo-MAN enjoys his cozy chair while he gets fed information like a baby being whined from breast-milk. This rather peculiar man clearly exhibits the characteristics of a female species that meet up to enlighten each other on the latest updates.

That my pearls is the sleazebag i call wo-MAN.

Then when his ears fail to hear sweet words of the life of my only life, the tables are turned and all of a sudden i am meant to suffer for not gracing his eyes and ears with updates about my personal life.

Once upon a time upon a true story, wo-MAN would voluntarily give me information on people i had no interest in knowing about. Unfortunately for me, i had shared most of my life stories with this sleazebag.

My oh my...
I had it coming! Soon my personal life was shared among a wild group of vultures who wanted a taste of a life they never knew i had, "An unknown celeb i never knew i was".

Yap compliments of a sleazebag i call wo-MAN.

It was too late for me, but i remembered that nothing is ever TOO late... in life. So i took ten steps back and let Mr. Gossip girl take some time off to hunt for new victims and indeed he did.
 xoxo...
So a random unwanted bump in, led this sleazebag to ask me this question for the third time by way, "Are you and your husband fighting"?

I unconsciously scratched my head and wondered who the hell this person was to ask me such an unprecedented question that had nothing to do with his womanity. Then the second question erupted, "how come you don't update me anymore blah blah"? I slightly raised my eyebrow and wondered who the hell this man was to be asking me such questions yet again. Definitely not my husband!
Sigh...

Man oh man, so this is what he hopes for all the time i concluded, he tried to ruin one union and i was convinced that i wasn't going to be his next victim. No No No...

So a couple of friends warned me, because they are also recovering victims from his demise since the female species seem to be his favorite target, and now, to save myself from this sleazebag i have decided to stay the hell away from this wo-MAN before he requests a second invitation into my playground since i rejected the first one.

PS: I AM HAPPILY MARRIED!..
